EDIasia Formula 400s

Dan Ruth was crowned the 2015 EDIasia Formula 400 champion at Cadwell Park this weekend, with one round to spare.

Ryan Varley took a brace of victories over the weekend, with Emma Jarman also standing on the top step of the podium, before the new champion signed off the weekend with a race win.

Jarman, who has been impressing this season with consistently strong results, culminating in a debut race win earlier in the year, took the win in the weekend’s opening race after qualifying on the second row of the grid in fourth place.

After hitting the front on the opening lap, Jarman was never headed, despite under constant pressure from Ryan Varley and Andrew Gill. The pair swapped places in Jarman’s wake in a bid to be the one to displace the race leader, but in the end it was Varley who finished runner-up by half a second with Gill third. Ruth finished fourth after a couple of errors during the race cost him time on the leading three.

Adam Green in 11th was the leading Sub-64 class rider across the line, but with Dave Harviek a mere eight hundredths of a second back in 12th and second Sub-64 rider. Third in class went to Keith Povah in 13th, just half a second ahead of 14th placed Matty Whelan who took the Rookie class win.

Series-leader Ruth got himself onto the podium in the second race of the weekend, and led the way in the opening laps, but after Varley took the lead at the halfway stage he pulled out a small gap over Ruth, and took his first win of the weekend by less than half a second. Jarman rode to a lonely third place but added another podium to her tally.

Whelan was dominant in the Rookie 400 class, claiming a top 10 finish in ninth place while Green took another Sub-64 win ahead of Povah and Harviek.

Varley again stood on the top step of the podium in Sunday’s opening race, again ahead of Ruth and again he took victory by less than half a second. However this time around it was Varley who hit the front from the start and at one point had pulled out a gap of nearly two seconds, leaving Ruth with work to do to get back on terms.

Ruth put in a series of quick lap times in the second half of the race to get onto the back of Varley but he couldn’t make a move for the win and had to settle for second with Andrew Gill third.

Whelan was again ninth and the leading Rookie 400 rider while the Sub-64 win went to Sam Holme in 10th.

Ruth took his race victory in the final encounter of the weekend. He hit the front early on with Varley in tow, but a mistake for Varley on the second lap dropped him back to fourth place.

He recovered to second place, but could do nothing to catch Ruth who took the win by over three seconds with Varley second. Gill finished third after a dice with Jarman, the dup split by a tenth of a second.

Whelan enjoyed an excellent race to seventh and another Rookie class win with Sam Holme’s 11th place earning him the Sub-64 win.

HOYL Insurance MRO Minitwins

It was a hat-trick of race wins for Richard Hickling at Cadwell Park, but it was Paul Wilby who assumed the championship lead in the HOYL Insurance MRO Minitwin series.

And it was the new championship leader Wilby who took the win in the opening race of the weekend, with Hickling second and Richard Goode third. Mason Williams, who arrived at Cadwell with a one point advantage in the championship finished fifth, handing Wilby a 13 point lead.

Hickling then went on his three-race win streak, taking the win in Saturday’s second race ahead of Kurtis Butler and Wilby, before beating Tyler Walsh and Williams and then Wilby and Williams to the top step of the podium in Sunday’s races.

Thomas Eustace was again dominant in the Rookie Minitwin class, and was crowned Rookie Minitwin champion.

Gary Smith and Ryan Anderson were dominant in the RKB-F1 & F2 sidecar races, taking all four wins aboard their Suzuki LCR F1 outfit.

Their first win came ahead of Bryan and Richardson with Gibson and Gibson third and the leading F2 outift, before victory in the second race again came ahead of Bryan and Richardson with Christie and Christie third and winners in the F2 class.

Both of Sunday’s victories for Smith and Anderson saw them storm to the wins, with Bleakley and Hughes second on both occasions and third went to the leading F2 outfit, this time of the Gibson pairing, in both races.

There were four different winners in the ePayMe MRO Powerbikes over the weekend at Cadwell Park after an exciting weekend of racing.

Sykes then went two better in the second race to take the overall win and the Clubman win, with Daryl Dance two tenths of a second back in second and Colin Parker third.

Sunday’s opener saw Dance on the top step of the podium, reversing positions with Sykes who was second by two tenths, but he took another Clubman win while former Yamaha Past Masters champion Mike Smith took and excellent third.

Peter Baker finally took a race win in the final race with Sykes second and again the Clubman winner, with Smith back on the podium again in third.

Christopher Kent finished third in race one before former champion Chris Rogers stood on the third step of the podium in race two. Sunday’s opening race saw Greg Wright finish third.

In the final race however, Taylor managed to climb onto the top step of the podium after Woodall dropped from contention on lap three. Wright finished second with Rogers third.

Team Respro MRO 600s

Team Respro MRO 600 championship leader Joe Goggins took a brace of victories at Cadwell Park, with Stephen Draper and Josh Wood taking a victory apiece.

Draper took the win in the opening race and also the Clubman class honours, with Goggins second and David Tinkler third, before Goggins took the win in the second race, switching positions with Draper on the podium with Tinkler again third.

Goggins again took the race win in the opening race on Sunday, crossing the line two and a half seconds ahead of Tinkler, who took the Clubman win, and Wood.

Tinkler was the Clubman class victor in the final race with another podium and third place, finishing behind Goggins with Wood taking the win.

In the Rookie 600 class Dominic Pettit and Benjamin Cotgrove took two wins apiece.

DFDS Seaways Yamaha Past Masters

Matt Barber all-but secured the DFDS Seaways Yamaha Past Masters championship, taking all four wins at Cadwell Park.

Graham Higlett finished second in the first three races, with Scott Grant third in race one, Doug Edmondson third in races two and three.

Barber took the win in the final race, but with Higlett’s DNF it enabled Edmondson to finish second and Giles Harwood to finish third.

Kawasaki Junior Cup and Senior 300s

Harry Rowlings and Alex Murley took two wins each in the Kawasaki Junior Cup at Cadwell Park.

Rowlings took both wins on Saturday, with Murley second and James Alderson third on both occasions. Carl Mitchell took the Senior class win in the first race before Jeremy Hill, a guest in the class, took the class win in race two.

Murley took both wins in Sunday’s races, with Rowlings and Anderson second and third on each ocassion.

Monica Isaac took the Senior class win in the first race on Sunday, before Mitchell took another Senior win in the final race.

Steve Jordan Thunderbike Sport & Thunderbike Extreme

Andrew Gill took three wins in the Thunderbike Sport class, the other going to Emma Jarman in the final race.

Gill’s first win came ahead of Adam Jamison and Tristen Revell, before he got the better of Jamison and Jarman in race two.

Sunday saw Gill take his third win, this time ahead of Jarman and Jamison, the pair reversing the positions from Saturday’s second race.

But it was Jarman who took the win in the final race, with Revell second and Alan Watson third.

In the Extreme class Seb Kelly finished first in all three races that were ran, with Matt Last second on each occasion. However, in the final race of the weekend, Last’s machine dropped oil at Park corner which resulted in the red flags coming out. Sadly the race was abandoned with no time to complete the schedule.

In the three races that went ahead David Abraham, Josh Harvey and Dave Shelvey took a third place finish apiece.
