RHL Activities and Operator Trials supported by L.Lynch Plant, partner for Employment Opportunities
The 2015 RHL Weston Beach Race, the UK’s largest and most iconic event in the off road calendar, will this year partner with Operator Trials supported by L Lynch Plant in promoting and securing new employment for local plant operatives in the North Somerset region and the UK

L.Lynch has taken the opportunity to partner with RHL for the Weston Beach Race as a platform to promote employment opportunities within L.Lynch in the south west region of the country. The L.Lynch Plant Hire and haulage expansion has already seen new employment to the region of over 80 people and the continued expansion should see that grow to over 150 in the coming months.

Mark Kennedy Operations Director L.Lynch Plant Hire and Haulage Ltd:
“It is a great opportunity to get behind this event and to hold an Operator Trials © event to highlight the great opportunity for young men and women to choose operating and working in plant hire as a career path they may not have already considered. As a local company to the region it is a great honour to partner such a prestigious event and to have the opportunity to present our company to the local community.”

L.Lynch are about to launch their Operator and Engineering apprenticeship schemes, in advance of major UK projects starting in the next 2 years.  There has never been a better opportunity to develop career and training opportunities within the plant world, through such a high profile company.

Gareth Hockey of RHL Activities:

“Its fantastic news that for the next 3 years L.Lynch and Operator Trials will partner with RHL Activities to actively seek to create employment and training for people in the South West.   RHL is passionate about employment, educational development and opportunities throughout its sport and over the last few years have worked hard in developing a solid relationship with the colleges in and around North Somerset, developing and expanding our educational relationships, year on year, with hands on experience and opportunities for all involved.   The idea L.Lynch came to us with was fantastic and is a pioneering approach to the recruitment and training of qualified operators and engineers within the plant world and I feel sure many other companies will follow their approach.  The idea of people being able to come along to the RHL Weston Beach Race and test their skills and show what they can do, which in turn could give them the opportunity to work within the plant industry, is a very exciting and unique experience and encompasses the whole ethos of the Weston Beach Race, as an event like no other”

About Operator Trials.

It’s our mission at Operator Trials to find the best operator in the UK. Both regionally and Nationwide, if you feel you can be one of the best operators, you should come to our events to try our various timed trials to test your skill and accuracy.

Operator Trials will be starting a UK wide tour looking to highlight the existing talent in the UK of the Plant hire industry. There will be trials with Tracked Excavators, Wheeled Excavators, Forklifts and Grab Lorries. The events will be running in association with the NFPEO and have been sponsored by one of the UK leading plant hiring companies LLynch Plant Hire & Haulage LTD.

Why not test your limits of what you can do. These competitive challenges will be against the clock and against each other to prove you are the best in your region and the UK. Please see our events page for information on the latest locations and dates of the trials. We can’t wait to meet you and get you involved!

To take part in the challenges you will need a competency card to prove you are able to operator the equipment. However if you do not hold one of these, Operator Trials will be bringing along our state of the art Tenstar Excavator simulator. Offering a full simulation with realistic audio and visual display, it provides self-instructive exercises that portray real-life construction environments. Whilst also including a professional driving seat and controls, this can be used for fun and education by both beginners and experienced excavator drivers. There is no real alternative to start digging dirt and showing off your skills!

Amongst the great prizes which can be won. There will be a chance to win a brand new one of a kind Pink Bobcat E14 Compact Excavator. Kindly donated by Promac Solutions LTD and Doosan Construction Equipment via LLynch Plant Hire & Haulage LTD in aid of Breast Cancer Care. When you complete your three Operator Trial challenges you will be awarded a free raffle ticket to the value of £20, which will entitle you to entry into the draw to win the Excavator. The reason we are raising money for Breast Cancer Care is to raise awareness of the skills shortage in the industry and the lack of women in construction as a whole.

Other prizes on the day will include LYNCH mechanise, Operator Trial merchandise, Model Excavators and Grabs. Each regional winner will be taking home a brand new ipad mini 3, with the top two winners of each region automatically being entered into the final for the opportunity to become recognised as the best plant operator in the UK. To top it off the champion will also receive a holiday
