Mc'Canny Wait - ACU EDMONDSON RACING BRITISH ENDURO CHAMPIONSHIP RD 1&2 LOSSIEMOUTH
Bel Ray Factory Husqvarna's Jamie McCanney started his 2015 season off perfectly with victory at rounds one and two of the ACU Edmondson Racing British Enduro Championship. Returning from injury and also changing from the FE 350 to the FE 250 just one day before the event, Jamie McCanney rode near faultlessly to lead the charge ahead of some very tough competition.

At home in the sand, day one saw Jamie McCanney win four out of the five tests to bring home a 31 second lead ahead of brother and fellow Bel Ray Factory Husqvarna rider Daniel McCanney. Second place was a three way battle between Daniel McCanney, last years Champion Colwyn Bay's Tom Sagar and Beta UK's Steve Holcombe. After making a mistake on each of the final two tests, Tom Sagar dropped from second to fourth which gave way to a third place finish for Steve Holcombe at round one.

One of the pre event favourites KTM UK's David Knight had to retire early after suffering heavily with his virus just two laps in.

The Lossiemouth Enduro hosted by the Elgin Endurance club is renowned for it's tight time checks and tough sandy terrain. The conditions, although dry were relentless, tiring and unforgiving for every rider that competed. Whooped out straights, loose ground, infamous tree stumps and deep ruts were ever present waiting to catch the weary rider out.

On the shortened day two it was again Jamie McCanney who led home the charge ahead of Beta UK's Steve Holcombe, KTM UK's Tom Sagar and Bel Ray Factory Husqvarna mounted Danny McCanney. Leading in to the last test of the day just three seconds separated the top three riders. Jamie McCanney emerged 8 seconds faster than Steve Holcombe and 14 seconds faster than Tom Sagar to take the overall win.

“Im very happy to be leaving here with a double win" said Jamie, "I knew my fitness was good and I've been working hard since my injury in 2014, but I honestly didn't expect to come here and win. I'm happy with where my riding is at now I have a result underneath me, I will go home now and prepare for the first EWC in Chile in two weeks time.

The expert class never fails to impress and Jake Gowan led home the hotly contested class on both days, but was kept honest all weekend by Bradley King who finished just 6 seconds behind on day one and 5 seconds on day two. Andrew Bisset on Saturday and Thomas Ellwood on Sunday each shared the final podium position.

Jordan 'Rusty' Ridgeway charged his little Midwest Husqvarna TE125 home to a convincing 44 second lead on day one in the Clubman class ahead of Duncan Norrie and Daniel Mundell. Reece Morewood had to settle for fourth just one second behind Mundell. On day two it was Daniel Mundell who was victorious ahead of Jordan Ridgeway and Reece Moorewood.

Rhian George led home the Womens class ahead of Glesni Jones in second on both days, Ellie Cooke finished third on day one and Kate Smith third on day two.

Richard Hay won the Over 40's vets after Derek Little picked up a 60 second time penalty leaving him 50 seconds short of the win. Russel Millward finished third ahead of David Stokes in fourth on the Saturday. Sunday saw a shake up as Derek Little won in front of Richard Hay and Russel Millward.

The over 50's vets class saw the result stay the same for both days as Gavin Johnston claimed a clear victory ahead of Paul Armstrong who was closely followed by Emlyn George and Robert Murfin.

The Sportsman class top three was Malcolm Garrat, Gerald Day and Pat Casari on day one. Mark Grice, Chris Spellman and Craig Mackay were Sunday’s top three.
