With the motocross season just four weeks away the Woodbridge and DMCC are preparing for an exciting and action packed year ahead at their Blaxhall venue.
During the 2015 season the Woodbridge club will be hosting four Motocross events as well as a round of the prestigious Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship powered by Skye Energy on June 28th.
The first meeting of the season will take place on Sunday 29th March and feature line-ups of Experts and Junior graded riders. Entries for this event are already open and with a number of top National grade riders and up and coming Junior riders already entered it is sure to be an great days racing to start the season.
On the 26th April the club will be hosting the 2
nd round of the Eastern Centre Motocross Championship for both Expert and Junior classes. With multi British Champion Carl Nunn looking set to defend his crown, a group of top local riders including Luke Benstead, Shaun Southgate, Jason Morland, Brad Tomlin and Lewis Tombs will all be looking to put on a good show in the Expert Class, while in the Junior class the racing will be close fought and intense.
The third event of the year at Blaxhall will be the fifth round of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship powered by Skye Energy on Sunday June 28th. Europe's premier domestic championship sees Grand Prix riders from across Europe, including countries such as France, Estonia, Lativa, Finland competing against Britain's best World, and European talent, along with some of the best home grown riders. With three championship classes and nine races in action including the highly competitive MX1 and MX2 classes and the MXY2 featuring the future of British Motocross. Local front runners will include Jake Nicholls (Ipswich), and Elliott Banks-Browne (Bury St Edmunds) who will both have overcome pre season injuries to compete in front of their home crowd alongside other local stars such as James Cottrell (Ipswich), and Lewis Tombs.
August 2nd will see another Open Motocross Meeting take place at Blaxhall, with Expert and Junior riders all competing in an action packed 15 race programme. The meeting will also include round 5 of the NGR Championship for riders over the ages of 35.
The final meeting of the year will round of the busy season on the 13
th September, when the club will host the penultimate round of the Eastern Centre Championship. With just a handful of races left in both the Expert and Junior classes the racing will be close as every championship point becomes vital.
