Rupert Kimber and Chris Kimber again headed the awards list at the excellent South Birmingham Motor Club’s double header sidecar championship weekend at Burwarton, near Bridgenorth.
The Rochester crew are not yet back to full fitness after their sickening Cornish crash. Landscaper Rupert had Luke Golding in the chair for the Welsh Trophy Trial as his father Chris was still recovering his rib cracking crash in the West Country. On Saturday tree surgeon Chris was back in the hot seat; and winning. Amazing!! Robin and Sam Luscombe took second places on both days and extended their points tally to one hundred and thirty four over Peter Dale and Harriet Shore who made up the trio in the top class.
Eighteen crews rode on Saturday and nineteen on Sunday. The Inter class is wide open with Daryl Dale and Hannah Etherington just seven points ahead of Andy Scrivens and Martin Lawford who are nineteen points ahead David Tuck and Steven Chandler. Huddersfield crew Nigel Scott and Jay Ashley-Hall are making the running at the top of the clubman scores with a double victory that takes the Baildon ex road racer to a thirteen point lead over but Robbie Head and Aaron Jacobs who in turn are two up on Mark Kemp and Ian Allaway. Newcomers Heath Dando and Josh Dando won on Saturday in the D.K. Mansell. On Sunday Josh and Luke Golding achieved the same result.
The BSSA Tuck/Cross Trial is but eighteen days away and Clerk of Course Phil Sparkes is well on his way to planning a real tester for Round 8 in the A.C.U. Luscombe Suzuki Leeds sponsored championship. The venue is Lambs Lair, Backwell, Bristol and the entire
course is on private land. Entries close on May 3
rd so get cracking as Sandra Sparkes is ready and waiting for the postman.
