The Mackenzie British Trials Championship Round Preview
The ACU Events sponsored trials series is now moving into the sharp end of the season. Round six of eight comes up this weekend at Brimham Rocks organised as always by the Yeadon Guisley & District Motor Club.
The venue at Brimham has been used now for a few years, it provides technical tough sections and for spectators it is superb as everything and you will not miss a thing. Brimham is located at Summerbridge, Harrogate, North Yorks with the postcode HG3 4DW.
Practice takes place between 3-5 pm on Saturday and the trial stars Sunday at 10am.
In the Championship class James Dabill still holds a healthy lead even after he was beaten down in Torridge by Michael Brown. Dibs had been on a fifteen event winning streak in the Brits. Both riders went well at last weekends world trial in Fort William so confidence will be high. Ross Danby made the final podium place at the Rene Pearce and he now moves to third overall in the standings a just reward for a set of consistent performances. Jack Challoner also returns for this event.
In the Experts A Ricky Wiggins has opened up a comfortable gap between himself and second place man Jack Spencer. The regulars will however have a couple of additional threats this time out in the form of Ian Austermuhle and Gary Macdonald.
The well supported B Group has seen a season long battle between two men Richard Timperley and Guy Kendrew. They have been setting the pace with only Kyle Hayes being able to split them down in Torridge. With MRS rider ‘Timps’ taking the Devon win this enabled him to open up a 5 point lead over Ossa’s Kendrew.
