International Motocross - Hawkstone Park 1st March 2009

Tuesday February 17, 2009 at 12:00am
Plans are certainly falling into place for this year's International Motocross meeting at Hawkstone Park on the 1st March.

In its 12 year history, organisers HIMX have got the most international riders the event has seen, with 45 riders attending from various different countries from across the globe.

The last week has seen no exception for riders planning on attending, recently confirmed are the Junior KTM factory team consisting of riders, Joel Roelants, Valentin Teillet and Yentel Martens.

They will also line up against current MX3 World Champion Sven Breugelmans and his team-mate Kenny van Dueren. Other British Teams signed up to compete are Relentless Suzuki riders Martin Barr, Jamie Law and Rasmus Jorgensen, Samsung Yamaha, Mark Jones and Wayne Smith. Plus other MX2 big hitters Xavier Boog and Pascal Leuret from France with Erik Eggens making his debut appearance in the MX1 class this season, Eggens was one of the first riders to attend the Hawkstone International 12 years ago.

Do not forget on top of that, fighting for the overall honours will be Shaun Simpson, Rui Goncalves, Steve Ramon, Ken de Dycker, Max Nagl, Marc de Reuver, Kevin Strijbos, Billy Mackenzie, Carl Nunn, Stephen Sword, Cedric Melotte, Gordon Crockard, Brad Anderson, Matiss Karro, James Noble and many other British and International stars, which should provide some thrilling and close racing.

To add a bit of excitement to it, there will be a British vs. British shoot out, four riders per heat, with the winner of the final taking £500 prize money.

Tickets are only £20 to be bought on the gate, free parking and kids under 14 are also free!

Supported and sponsored by Doodson, Petag Belgium, Michelin/BFGoodrich, Hawk Plant Hire, RJS, Builders Ltd, Cradley Kawasaki and Wulf Sport.
