The ACU can confirm that following the recent elections for the ACU Track Racing Commission, we would like to share with you all the new commission that is effective from 1st January 2025 as follows:
Trevor Heath
Tim Greig
Ben Ilsley
Dickie Staff
Glyn Stanton
Gareth Bemister will continue in his role as Grading Points Co-ordinator which he continues to do a great job and collating all of the information and producing the regular updates.
The new commission are eager to get to work with organisers around the country to reset the sport and move things forward in a positive way.
There are still some opportunities to apply for the new look National Championships so if any organisers wish to run a National Championship, please contact Kirsty as soon as possible.
Dates for the National Championships will be announced in early January. Championship Conditions and rules for all of the championships will be confirmed in early January and any changes affecting any riders will be communicated accordingly.
The commission will meet early in January to finalise the rules for 2025 which will be shared with the Track Racing family as soon as they have been finalised and approved.
All current licensed Clerks of the Course will be invited to a licensing seminar at ACU House on Saturday 25th January and Kirsty will be in contact directly with more information about the seminar, with the ACU Grasstrack Open Forum scheduled for the following day, Sunday 26th January where each organising club can send two delegates to attend the meeting. Any items for the agenda for the open forum should be sent to Kirsty as soon as possible. Again, more information on the forum will be sent to organisers by Kirsty shortly.
Kirsty has started to assemble the calendar for 2025 so if you have not already done so, please email Kirsty your proposed dates. Where clashes are identified, Kirsty will work with organisers to try and move dates so that there is an event most weekends rather than two or more scheduled for the same day.
As has already been communicated, insurance rates for Track Racing have been held at the 2024 rates for next year which is welcomed news for all of our organisers.
A priority for the Track Racing Commission for 2025 is Youth Development and there are lots of ideas of how to offer more opportunity and to increase the standard of the British Youth Championships. More news on this to follow.
