After twenty-seven years in the sport’s elite, Trial legend Adam Raga (Sherco) – who announced his retirement last weekend before helping his country to victory at the 2024 FIM Trial des Nations – will make his final competitive UK appearance at the DL12 Indoor Trial V3.0 on Saturday 18th January 2025.
The forty-two-year-old from Ulldecona in the Catalan region of north-east Spain is a three-time winner in Steel City, since making his debut in 2002, and has enjoyed a long and highly decorated career in Trial’s top-flight. He has chosen the event at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena to say what is sure to be an emotional goodbye to his many British fans with organisers planning to lay on a special celebration to mark the historic occasion.
“I have been very fortunate to have had such a long and successful career, but everything must come to an end,” said Raga. “I have always really enjoyed competing at Sheffield – the fans and the atmosphere are amazing – and I cannot think of a better event for my final competition in the UK than the third DL12 Indoor Trial.”
Raga’s career statistics are outstanding. Making his TrialGP debut all the way back in 1998 at the age of sixteen, he was FIM Trial World Champion in 2005 and 2006 and FIM X-Trial World Champion from 2003 to 2006. He finished runner-up to his compatriot Toni Bou in the FIM Trial World Championship every year from 2007 to 2021 and his final record shows fifty-six TrialGP victories along with nineteen wins in the TdN.
“I have enjoyed a lot of success in Sheffield and I would love to take my fourth victory there in the New Year. There would be no better way to say goodbye to my British fans and to thank them for all their support over the years. It would be the icing on the cake.”
