QUALIFYING
Bobby Varey again set the pace on his TZ 250cc Yamaha and was fastest in the National championship in a time of 1 minute 13.74 seconds and a speed of 96.61 mph. Just 0.67 of a second behind Bobby Varey was former 125cc National champion Gavin Mills in second on his RS 250cc Honda. Third fastest went to James Hobson on his TZ 250cc Yamaha. Fastest in the DTR Cup class went to Mike Edwards on his TZ 350cc Yamaha in a time of 1 minute 17.00 seconds and a speed of 92.51 mph. Second fastest was Alex Penrice TZ 250cc Yamaha and Mark Chapman was third on his RS 250cc Honda. Fastest in the National 125cc Class was George Thomas in a time of 1 minute 25.50 seconds and a speed of 87.41 mph, Sian Brooks was second and Mackenzie Parsons in third all on RS 125cc Honda's.
RACE 1
Gavin Mills took the race victory in the National 250cc class in his first race eight lap race in a time of 10 minutes 10.83 seconds and a race speed of 93.08 mph. Ian Mackman finished in second and Simon Hunt was in third place both on TZ 250cc Yamaha's ,Joey Thompson just missed out on the final podium place by just 0.36 of a second but he set the fastest lap of this race in a time of 1 minute 14.21 seconds and a speed of 96 mph on his final lap of the race. On his return to racing on the short circuits after competing in the Manx Grand Prix for the first time and picking up the award for best Newcomer Nick Sansome finished in tenth place. Paul Fyson had a dramatic moment in this race when he was spat from the seat of his bike but managed to keep hold of his bike and pull himself back into the saddle and crossed the line in 19th place. Victory in the DTR Cup class went to Alex Penrice on his TZ250cc Yamaha in a time of 10 minutes 27.03 seconds and a speed of 90.68 mph. Second place went to Mark Chapman on his RS 250cc Honda and Joe Woodward in third place on his Tigcraft TZ 350. George Thomas took victory in the 125cc National class in a time of 11 minutes 04.53 seconds and a speed of 85.56 mph. He also set the fastest 125cc lap of the race in a time of 1 minute 21.73 seconds and a speed of 87.17 mph. Sian Brooks finished in second place and Mackenzie Parsons was third all on RS 125cc Honda's.
RACE 2
This race was red flagged after three laps but not before Bobby Varey had gone from row six on the grid and led by the start of the third lap in the National 250cc race The restart was run over four laps which was won by Joey Thompson in a time of 5 minutes and 08 of a second and a speed of 94.51 mph. Booby Varey was second across the line and set the fastest lap of the race in a time of 1 minute 13.07 of a second and a speed of 97.50 mph. Ian Mackman took the final step of the podium all on TZ 250cc Yamaha's. Mark Chapman took the victory in the DTR Cup Class with Ian Perks in second and Andrew Mook in third place all on RS 250cc Honda's. Sian Brooks took victory in the National 125 cc race in a time of 5 minutes 40.64 of a second and a speed of 83.25 mph along with the fastest 125cc lap of the race in a time of 1 minute 22.44 of a second and a speed of 86.41 mph on her RS 125cc Honda. Behind Sian in the 125cc class was a great dice between brothers James and Spencer Hunt both on TZ 125cc Yamaha's. James crossed the line in second and Spencer in third place.
RACE 3
This was the best 250 National race of the weekend and maybe so far this season with a great wheel to wheel dice between Bobby Varey and Joey Thompson. These two exchanged places for the lead during most of this eight lap race at various points all around the circuit. In the closing stages Bobby Varey retired and Joey Thompson took the victory in a time of 9 minutes 59.19 of a second and a speed of 94.89 mph. Bobby Varey set the fastest lap of this race in a time of 1 minute 13.08 of a second and a speed of 97.48 mph. Ian Mackman finished in second place and in the closing stages MCN's Bruce Dunn passed Thomas Lawlor for third place all TZ 250cc Yamaha's. Despite starting from the back of the grid Simon Hunt charged through to finish in sixth place. Mark Chapman notched up his second victory in the DTR Cup Class and Joe Woodward finished in second and Ian Perks in third place. The National 125 victory went to James Hobson in a time of 11 minutes and a speed of 85.62 mph along with the fastest 125cc lap of the race in a time of 1 minute 20.80 of a second and a speed of 88.17 mph.
