A turbulent year with a season long hand injury and further problems after an accident. it looked like the season was going to be over in July but Jim managed to miss only one round.
At Darley Moor this Sunday he had an easy ride to the take his second title complimenting his previous 2021 Classic British 50 championship with the 2024 open 50 title on the same bike.
Jim said:- After a turbulent 18months recovering from injury and a new knee It turned out to be very much an up and down 2024 with a fair share of bike and more health problems. However, It shows the power of the phrase “to win it you’ve got to be in it”. Thanks to SJL racing and RLT racing teams for the support that literally kept me in it. And to all the Ultralightweight riders for their support over the season
I will be 70 years old next year and I will be resuming the work I previously did with the Ultralightweight organisational team in parallel to doing a lot of travelling in sunnier places from this Autumn. When and if the UK gets a little warmer, I will be trying to compete on the mighty little bike and others whenever I can find a spare weekend!”
