It’s coming down to the sharp end of the season with only 2 more tracks to visit that means 6 races a maximum of 150 points to be had if you are good enough to score 6 wins, simple enough to do!
But first the Donington Park 1.98 mile track has to be tamed with no end of corners to bite the unaware racer from the first challenge at Redgate , off there and you are shingle surfing for a long way ! through to Hollywood and the notorious Craner Curves to join the list of GP heroes, Bsb stars and club racers and many track day rider who have joined the “Craner Club!!
The Old Hairpin through to Starkey’s Bridge and your not out of the woods yet Schwantz Curve and you can just about breathe unless you have someone trying to show you his front wheel into Mclean’s and the run up to Coppice and the long run down to the Roberts Chicane where you question those old brake pads that still had a bit of life in them! And then the finish line on the Wheatcroft Straight.
You only have to do that another 7, 8, 9 times and keep the rest of your class away from you?
Nothing to it this racing lark??
The important stuff now championships are wide open in the big classes the Phoenix open is still led by George Ewards but will on BSB duties for the rest of the season so not around for the this and the final round so Dan Nelmes 20 points in second , Dave Mackay 40 points adrift in 3rd Ricky Elder 48 points all have a chance to get the lead, rumours also saying that Mr Elder is going to have a serious bit of fire power to enhance his chances ??
Nelmes is looking like Champion elect in the RE Performance Powerbikes with over 232 points 25 in front of Edwards and 129 points in front of Howard Burchnell who is possibly Manx GP bound?
IMS OPEN 600 Ricky Elder leads by 56 points from Gareth Roberts and 94 from Mike Tustin so consistent points rides are the order of the day ?
The HM Racing Clubman 600 is still all to fight for Harry Hinchcliffe leads Dave Tilling by 38 , William Fowler 40 and Mike Knorr 49
JCR Motorsport Super Twins only 5 points separate Chace Collymore and Ed Giles, and also is only 41 points adrift of True Heroes Charlie White in the NL MOTOR SERVICES Sound of Thunder
Double trouble for Chace!!
Brandon Wright has a chance of catching Joe Woodward in TW TECH Mini Twins if Joe fails to enter?
Ducati Desmo Due both A and B classes are to close to call so looking like going to the wire or checkered flag at the final round in Anglesey mid-September !!
Just to round off the very full programme of track time we have guest classes of the Grand Prix Originals the former GP 2 strokes for the 3rd time this year and the FSRA Sidecars their second visit to NGRRC.
