After two days of tough competition across the Island the overall winner of the Manx 2 Day Trial for the second year running was Cumbrian Tom Swindlehurst. Riding a 300 Birkett Scorpa machine he completed the 73 observed sections for a loss of only 16 marks and comfortably took the title once again.

Local man, and previous winner Barry Kinley was runner up to Swindlehurst losing 31 marks and holding off Welshman Hugo Jervis into third place just 5 marks back.

The top 6 places were completed by local veteran Juan Knight, who overcame a heavy crash on Sunday afternoon to finish fourth, Gwynedd Jones took fifth and Irishman Stuart McClurg took sixth.

There was local success in the Sidecar class where the pairing of Jack Corlett/Ealish Baxter halved the score of their nearest challengers, Jack taking his third win and Ealish her first.

Jacks father, John Corlett took the runner up position along with passenger Harry Gell, the top three completed by Rupert Kimber/Aron Jacobs who finished on 26 marks, just 4 behind Corlett/Gell.

The Solo Clubman class had a new winner with late entry Ben Butterworth securing his first victory at the event on his twinshock Fantic. Losing 12 marks for the two days, and staying clean on observation on the second day, Lancastrian Butterworth finished three marks in front of Kiaran Hankin, with Andrew Reeves completing the top three a little way back on 28 marks.
