The second round of the ACU TRIAL GB Trials Championship was well organised by the Hookwood Trials Club in sunny conditions at the popular Hookwood Trials Centre on the summit of the Surrey Hills.
Clerk of the Course Neil Bowker and his team had put in an enormous amount of work to create a course suitable for this prestigious ACU event.. There were many spectators who marvelled at the riding level on display in these dry conditions. Beta rider Harry Hemingway wast just brilliant in cleaning the hard Sand Mountain section. Jack Peace and Billy green were also good on this very steep section. Runner up went to Sherco rider Jack Peace on 46 with Billy Green finishing on 55 marks.
Scotland’s Jamie Galloway TRS had a day never to forget. Jamie was presented by Tony Lloyd of the Sunbeam MCC the PINHARD TROPHY for the most outstanding UK under 21 motorcyclist for 2023. Jamie then went on to blitz the ACU Trial 2 class finishing on 16 marks with Hookwood riders Oliver Smith and Sam Connor just behind on 20 & 21 marks.
Brad Bullock took the expert class on 13 marks with Luke Walker on 15 and Charlie Smith 17.
The top 5 Youth A class are now invited to ride in the Trial GB in expert class (on a non-award basis) Scotland’s youth Sherco rider EUAN SIM did not disappoint riding the adult class on just 14 marks which was just one mark short of the overall best ride.
ACU President Tim Lightfoot was in attendance to present the awards for Adults on the Sunday and a big well done goes to the Hookwood Trials Club on organising an excellent ACU Talon GB event.
