This weekend saw the second round of the EMX65 / EMX85 European Championship for Central Europe zone together with the EMX Women’ European Championship take place at Valkenswaard in Holland at the very well-known track in Motocross, with its typical sand that makes the Dutch track very technical and difficult for riders to interpret. Almost 100 riders raced in the weekend.
With a number of British riders competing, it was a good weekend for results in all classes.
EMX65
Arrived in Valkenswaard as second in the standings, British rider Cohen Jagieski (GasGas) won both heats taking the head of the general classification. Alongside Cohen was Jett Gardener who finished in 6th and 8th, landing him in 7th overall. Jack Clark finished 23rd and 21st, placing him 22nd overall. Tyler Peaty finished in 30th and 24th, with a final overall position of 25th. And Austin Edwards landed 32nd and 26th, earning a final overall spot of 26th.
EMX85
In the EMX85 class after losing the podium in the previous round, in the Netherlands Hayden Statt (KTM) managed to take a double win ahead of home hero Kenzo Jaspers. Robbie Daly showed good pace and went P5 and P7 finishes, placing him 5th overall. Blake Ward Clarke showed determination with a P15 and P9 finish, earning him 12th place overall. Lucas Lee had a solid ride going P27 in both races for 28th overall. Casey Lister fought hard and finished with P21 and P31, placing 32nd overall. Lucas Moncrieff gave it his all with P20 finishes in both races, rounding out the group at 22nd overall.
Women
After winning the first round, Lucy Barker (KTM) conceded to Dutch rider Shana Van Der Vlist (Yamaha), who took a double win on home soil. Second overall for Lucy, sees here leading the championship by 20 points after the opening two rounds.
Valkenswaard saw several excellent results and valuable experience for our young riders.
