This
weekend sees the Ultra Light ACU 50’s 80’s and 125’s take their bikes to seaside
circuit at Tonfanau as the championships hot up. It will be followed shortly by
the Cheshire favourite, Oulton Park on the 24th of June.
Both tracks are really popular with the riders as the holiday atmosphere fused with competition at Tonfanau is something to be experienced. Oulton Park (Wirral 100 club meeting) often regarded as the best circuit in the country is also a hot date the riders and a great experience savoured on the undulating and twisty roller coaster track.
The
50cc Class is currently led by Rhys Callister, who promises to continue his good
run. The 80cc Class is headed up by
David Mc Glone and Nick Marchbank, with Nick getting faster and faster. 125’ Streestocks are being fiercely contested
with Morgan Fulop at the front, being chased by Max Taylor and William
Greenway. Not far behind them and
threatening to put the cat amongst the pigeons is the fast charging Noel Grieg.
All four of whom are worth watching.
The
Ladies in the competition, led by Denise Lawson, Iona Glover and Shannon Harley
are having their own season long private wager as are the guest riders in the
Evotech (moto4) class David Glover,
Shane Norval and the rapidly improving Ben Phipps.
There
is a lot going on and plenty to be of interest. I will keep you in touch or
better still come and watch the action or even enter yourselves to the most
cost effective and cheapest class in the ACU championships.
