Last Sunday the ever increasing  ACU championship grids visited Mallory Park for the 2nd round of the ACU British 50cc, 80-85cc  and 125 Streetstock Championships.

The Spectators were treated to some fast, smooth riding by the competitors on a day that turned from cold and damp to brilliant sunshine for the first event of the EMRA Clubs 2023 season.

Ex Laverty academy rider, 13 year old Joel Greig won both of his Streetstock class races.  Race 1 Joel led from the start with a closely following Morgan Fulop snapping at his heels.  Race 2 saw Joel extending good a lead over a hard riding William Greenway in 2nd who was busy defending, this time against Morgan Fulop.in 3rd place.

Streestock rider Max Taylor and his team did well to recover and repair their bike after an early crash that would have had most people packing up for the day, it paid off as he scored valuable points to stay in championship contention.   At the end of an excellent meeting , Morgan Fulop  extended his current  championship lead to 12 points over joint 2nd placed riders Greenway and Taylor.  Joel Greig inserted himself into 5th on the table with his first performance.

The 50cc class was once again easily taken by Rhys Callister from the Isle of Man with two wins to now dominate the class.

In the 80-85cc class: Race 1 was won by Dave MCGlone with a comfortable lead over Nick Marchbank riding in his first race for 30 plus years.  In race2 the positions were reversed as. Marchbank found his old form in a great display of smooth riding to win the class from MCGlone.

The guest Moto4/Evotech class was dominated by Shane Norval leaving all in his wake with an ultra smooth and fast performance as expect from the experienced competitor.

The lady riders in the Streetstock class are also having a private guest championship. Currently led by Denise Lawson, Iona Glover and Shannon Harley who wish to us the championship to  encourage more riders to their class
