Like many other businesses in the UK, the ACU Directors are deeply concerned about the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on our members across the UK. The rapidly increasing rate of inflation is causing severe problems for our company and individual members and for the wider sector. With this in mind, and looking forward to next year, the Directors have decided there will be a small increase in the cost of an ACU Licence /Trials Registration for 2023.
The annual cost for a Competition Adult Licence will increase to £70.00, a Youth Licence to £40.00 and £20.00 for a Trials Registration. Broken down, a rider taking out an Adult Licence at £70.00 will work out at £5.83 per month or £1.25 per week!! There will be no increase to the Premier Permit fees.
As we have previously stated, whilst many other sports enjoy the benefits of government funding, our sport does not, and unfortunately, never has. Quite simply, the ACU is totally reliant on the income received from annual competition licence and Trials Registration fees. That income is then used to fund the ACUs many significant liabilities, the biggest outlay being the provision of the comprehensive Insurance cover placed to protect our sport, our members and competitor, in addition administration in all its various facets as delivered from ACU Head Office.
