Massed start road racing ignited the Isle of Man once again in 2022 with the highly anticipated return of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Southern 100.
First run in 1955 the Southern 100 Road Races were thought to be ambitious by the media of the day, for a first ever meeting attracting 73 entries. Today however, it is one of the most popular events on the calendar with this year’s event attracting a host of top names including 2019 Solo Champion Dean Harrison, rising start Davey Todd, Irish ace Michael Dunlop and consistent to runner Jamie Coward.
On the solos it was the Yorkshireman Davey Todd who dominated taking five closely fought wins out of nine on the Milenco by Padgett’s Honda machines with Harrison, Dunlop, Coward and Hodson each taking a win a piece. On three wheels however, it was a brace of victories from current champions FHO Racing’s Peter Founds and Jevan Walmsley.
Sit back and enjoy this epic 10-race review filled with heart-skipping action including some awesome on-board footage featuring Nathan Harrison, Conrad Harrison, and Jamie Coward.
