This coming weekend sees the Pre-Injection teams head to Anglesey for the final round of the series – this meeting being run on the longer “International” configuration of the circuit, following a weather disrupted visit earlier in the year on the shorter “Coastal” layout.
Following plenty of track time at East Fortune three weeks ago (despite much of it being purely for testing on the Saturday), we look forward to the final round of the season with both the F1 and F2 titles still to be decided. The points are close – with only having two races at the previous round – meaning that absentee teams have not fallen down the order dramatically. Dave Tibbles / Raitch Greenwood (FJ Yamaha) lead the F1 class with Mark Burns / Steven Winfrow (Baker Yamaha) just seven points in arrears. The F2 championship is not yet sealed yet either, with Andrew Bingham / Steve Dalton (Shelbourne Honda) at the head of the standings after East Fortune easing a margin of twenty-four points from the pairing of Liam Saunders / Ben Stell (Ireson Yamaha) – who will definitely be looking to make up lost ground after engine problems at the previous round.
We see some teams make a return to the series after not seeing them for a couple of meetings Kieran Clarke / Andrew Johnson (Windle Yamaha) will be sure shake things up in the F2 class results, we also see John Stephenson / Amanda Mason (Suzuki) who have supported the series for a few years now, along with front running F1 team Gary Fairhurst / Billy Andrews (Windle Kawasaki) who have been side-lined since Croft following an incident in practice.
