Sadly at the age of 83 has passed away this week, one of Britains great road racers of the 60s and 70s winning seven World Championship titles between 1964 to 1974 on Yamaha and MV Agusta ranging from 125cc to the premier 500cc class. On top of his Grand Prix success Phil notched up eight TT wins between 1961 to a final Senior TT win in 1977.
