A damp misty morning following heavy rain greeted the sombre riders briefing as Roger Chaplin the President of Sudbury MCC paid tribute to the Late Queen Elizabeth II before a 2 minutes silence.
As the mist burnt off the gloom truly lifted for the afternoons youth race. The GH Motorcycles & GB Finch Youth Race was an 1 hour long Hare & Hound event, with the sun now shining and firm going underfoot following the earlier 2 man adult championship round. With some new faces joining our junior members and racing over the last two rounds it was nice to welcome back Rueben Hills & Harry Fordham and see Oliver Cates on the starting line. The shortened youth course asked enough questions to keep the youngsters aged 12 to 16 years up on their pegs, changes of terrain, ditches, logs and slippery stubble with long fast straights gave them plenty to concentrate on. Following a le man start where the field ran to their bikes and pulled away, it was Gosfield based Stanly Delany who again had the flying start and took the first corner in the lead over final winner Eddie Belton close on his heels with Rueben Hills, Henry Belton, Louie Curry and Harry Fordham in hot pursuit. Eddie Soon got the lay of the course and took the lead managing to lap Stanly twice before the finish flag, proud to be keeping his unbeaten record in this Hedingham based Eddies first year of youth enduro racing in Sudburys own youth championship series since turning 12 last December.
The Final results were
1st Eddie Belton 28 Laps
2nd Stanly Delany 26 Laps
3rd Henry Belton 23 Laps
4th Louie Curry 22 Laps
5th Oliver Cates 21 Laps
6th Rueben Hills 20 Laps
7th Harry Fordham 19 laps
