Commemorative Plaques for Southern 100 Sidecar Duos

2022 is the 60th Anniversary of Sidecars racing at the Southern 100 Road Races. Charlie Freeman and Billy Nelson on their Norton outfit won the race at 70.230mph with a fastest lap of 3m 31.4s equal to 72.370mph. 2018 saw John Holden and Lee Cain set the fastest lap so far around the 4.25-mile Colas Billown Course lapping in 2m 31.057s, 101.286mph.

As part of the Diamond Jubilee of Sidecar Racing at the friendly races, the race organisers, Southern 100 Racing presented each driver and passenger with a exclusive designed, locally produced commemorative plaque to mark the occasion.

The photograph shows delighted former Sidecar Champions John Holden (2017) and Gregg Lambert (1997) after having received their plaques from club officials George Peach and Richard Haddock.
