Sunday 17th July the Frittenden & DMCC proudly presents the 2022 ACU British Grasstrack Championships plus support in Frittenden, Kent.
A whole host of the sports top riders descend on the Kent circuit with the aim of becoming British Champion for 2022.
2 solo classes & 2 sidecar classes will battle it out across 40 fast and furious races. These championship classes will then be supported by the popular 1000cc right hand sidecars.
The 250cc solo class looks to be one of the toughest lineups in years – 5 former British champions take to the line, plus further riders who have achieved a top 3 finish plus a former elite league speedway rider it will be tough to predict the top 3. Can Henry Atkins make it 4 250cc titles, or will Jake Mulford claim his second title. Graham Thomas another former multiple winner is sure to be in the mix.
The 350cc solos again will be a hard fought class, again with 4 former champions, plus a whole host of riders who have made the podium again it will be tough to predict who will take the crown. Paul Cooper looks to add to his 2 350cc solos and his 3 250cc solo crowns. Tony Atkin looks to make it 5 350cc solo titles, the first he won back in 1993!
The left hand sidecars again is one of the most open classes in the sport, where almost all 12 crews could be in with a shout of taking the coveted British title. Reigning champion Alex Balman/Mark Hopkins will have their work cut out to win back to back titles.
The 500cc sidecars again is open, Mitch Godden/Paul Smith are back to defend their maiden title against multi-champs Josh Goodwin/Liam Brown. Expecting to push them all the way are Welsh crew Shaun Hughes/Louis Bennett and returning to the sport Simon Beard/Shane Freeman.
