On Sunday 17th April the Nora MX club will be hosting the opening round of the 2022 British Sidecarcross championships at the Sherwood Farm Park MX circuit. This will be the first of the six rounds with the subsequent rounds being held at tracks in Scotland, N.Ireland, Cumbria, Wiltshire and Essex.
As has been the norm for as long as I care to remember the winter months have seen the usual round of musical chairs with many drivers swapping passengers and also motors and frames.
Defending champions Stuart Brown / Josh Chamberlain are unchanged for this season but many of their rivals have changed. Brett Wilkinson is now fully recovered from his knee injury and has signed up the very experienced Joe Millard as his passenger. He has also moved away from Zabel two stroke motors and will be using a very potent AMS fourstroke motor. Also swapping passengers are George Kinge who now has Dan Phelps on board, Jake Brown who now has Paul Horton and Mike Hodges who has Jack Wilkinson. All of these plus Dan Foden / Nathan Cooper will be trying their best to challenge for the podium places.
With five teams crossing the water from Northern Ireland this year promises to be all action.
In addition the three main championship races embedded in them will be riders who will also be contesting the Experts class.
The track will be open from midday on Friday and spectators will be charged £10 each for a weekend ticket. Camping is available for £10 / vehicle / night.
The track is at Clipstone, Mansfield and the nearest postcode is NG21 9HL.
