The Darley Moor Motor Cycle Road Race Club (DMMCRRC) are eager to get the 2022 season underway in what will hopefully be the first full season of action-packed racing for three years. Many willing volunteers have helped get the circuit into excellent condition over the closed season and do not forget there was a lot of work done over the previous winter to improve a number of vantage points around the circuit. Once again, the Club Championship will be contested over eight rounds, including two ‘double header’ weekends, so be sure to get your calendars marked-up in readiness with the following dates:
2022 DMMCRRC Championships
Sat 9th/Sun 10th April- Test Day/Round 1
Sun 15th May - Round 2
Sun 12th June - Round 3
Sat 2nd/Sun 3rd July - Round 4 & 5
Sun 11th September - Round 6
Sat 8th/Sun 9th October - Round 7 & 8, plus Stars at Darley
Although there is no DMMCRRC Championship meeting in August there will still be some racing on when the British Historic Racing Club hold their penultimate weekend of racing on Sat 13th/ Sun 14th August 2022.
However, this coming weekend will see the action start when the Test Day gets underway at 1000hrs on Saturday 9th April 2022. This will give competitors the opportunity to ensure the winter preparations to their trusted machines, or the new race machinery is ready for the year ahead and a chance for each competitor to get their minds up to speed and alert for hurtling down the Pope Straight at speeds approaching 180mph!
Be sure not to forget that it isn’t just the competitors that are able to spend the whole weekend at the circuit, spectators are also able to camp over throughout the weekend, for just £7 per night, or £6 if booked in advance and take advantage of getting an early opportunity to claim their favoured vantage point.
