James Hobson made a great start to his ACU National 250cc championship with two wins from two starts at the first round held at Oulton Park on Saturday the 26th of March.

 In his first race by the end of the second lap he was in a strong second place behind last season's National 250cc championship runner up Chris Moore who led on his JL Exhausts/Silverstar/Outhwai T Z 250cc Yamaha. Third place was held by Thomas Lawlor on his GTL Life and Pensions T Z 250cc Yamaha. On lap three out of six Thomas Lawlor went from third to first which demoted James Hobson to third. Then James made his move with just two laps to go and won the race he also set the fastest lap of the race. In his second National 250cc race he led from start to finish and again set the fastest lap. Bruce Dunn on his T Z 250cc Yamaha and Thomas Lawlor had a great wheel to wheel dice for second and third. Thomas got ahead of Bruce on lap four out of eight and held on to this position until the end of the race with Bruce in third place.

Ian Perks finished in sixth place overall in his first race on his A C Tyres R S 250cc Honda and first N G Cup finisher. Paul Metcalfe on his R S 250cc Honda and Andy Jackson on his Falcon Electrical backed T Z 250cc Yamaha finished in second and third in the N G Cup class. Ian Perks went one better in his second race with fifth place overall and again won the N G Cup class along with a pair of fastest class laps. Andy Jackson also went one better with a second place and Adrian Morris on his T Z 250cc Yamaha finished in third.

Luke Scofield notched up a pair of victories from his two starts in the 125cc National championship on his Gavin Mills backed R S 125cc Honda and also set fastest laps for this class. Jack Worth also on a RS 125cc Honda finished in second place in his first race with Ian Austin in third on his T Z 125cc Yamaha. Ian Austin was another rider who went better in his second race with second place ahead of Simon Vanderplank on his RS125cc Honda. Norman Williamson notched up two fourth places also on a RS 125cc Honda and is currently in third place in the championship.
