This Sunday the Waterlooville club will be hosting the penultimate round of the ACU British Sidecarcross championships at the Cusses Gorse MX track near Salisbury, Wiltshire.
After the first two rounds defending champions Stuart Brown / Josh Chamberlain lead the championship on 116 points but they have not had it all their own way. In the opening round at Dean Moor they were beaten in the very first race by Brett Wilkinson / Maxime Cuche and in round two at Fat Cats they were beaten twice by Jake Brown / Joe Millard.
With Wilkinson out of the championship because of injury J.Brown is now up to second place, just twenty four points behind dad. Also involved in the scrap for second place are Dan Foden / Nathan Cooper and George Kinge / Ryan Henderson, with just seven points separating the three of them.
Two other crews who are likely to troubling the front runners are wild cards from the Netherlands. Ijen Kops and his English passenger Paul Horton will be looking to add to the 38 points they scored in round two and Gert v. Werven / Ben v.den Bogaart will be hoping to open their account.
Returning from an earlier injury is the Irish driver Gary Moulds and his English passenger Lewis Gray.
The Experts class which is contested in the same three races is headed by Ross Bowers . Dan Phelps. They have 96 points, just seven points ahead of second placed Lee Foyle / Kevin Foyle.
On Saturday night the club have laid on live music and a bar with camping allowed overnight for £10. Practice is due to start on Sunday at 9.40 with the first race due off at 11 o’clock.
Admission for adults is £10 with children £5 and those under 5 free. A family ticket for 4 is £25.
