It has been such a great day here at Canada Heights for the third stop of the 2021 Revo ACU British Motocross Championship Fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels. The track and spectators brought a new sense of pride to the Official ACU British Championship, with some close action-packed racing battles going down to the finish line.
The Small Wheel 85cc class although the youngest of the riders, never fail to give a good day of high endurance racing. Taking the win in the first race was Drew Stock who headed for a great start for the second round for the class. Drew dropped into third on the second race which led him to second place overall. Gus Mustoe saw the opportunity to take the lead in the second moto and didn’t hesitate to do so, this win in the second race gave him the two-point advantage over Drew landing him first place at Canada Heights. We must bring the attention to the third and fourth place tied in points riders Jamie Keith and Lucas Moncrieff.
The Big Wheel 85cc gave us quite the performance today, the day saw Ben Mustoe came out on top with a win in the first race and although trying for first again in the second race Billy Askew took it from under his nose. Despite this Mustoe, following his brother took first place in the overalls at this round of the British Championship. Gyan Doensen although not champion of either race, kept high in the pack and came second overall, keeping him in the championship standings.
The 125cc class saw Ollie Colmer, come out on top with 87 points in total with Bailey Johnston hot on his heels with only two points behind the current red plate champion. With Bailey winning the first race and Ollie winning the second they remain head-to-head contesters for the British Title, with both over ten points ahead of any other rider in their class for this round.
In the 250cc class, Jude Morris gave us the show of a lifetime, with a full flush of wins and a total of 90 points this round, taking a first on the podium. Alfie Jones and Ben Clarke who took third and second place in both races, ensuring their standing on the podium.
The MX2 class had to be some of the best races of the day, with Ashton Dickinson pulling through with a win on the first race and a slight drop to fourth in the second but still securing that coveted podium first place. Wilson Todd, pulled through the day ending up second place overall and second and third in the first and second race. Conrad Mewse got off to a slightly disappointing start, but still managed to win the second race of the day clinging on to his Championship leader red plate.
Competition is strong in the MX2 experts, this is the first time we see Florian Miot missing on the podium for Jamie Law, Steven Clarke and Ike Carter, slowly creeping up the table in third, second and first for the British ACU Expert Cup.
The spectacular racing in the MX1 provided high octane racing for all to watch, with the crowd intensely watching Jake Milward, who took a win in the first but a poor result in the second race left him having to settle for 5th overall at Canada Heights.
Cab Screens Crescent Yamaha Racing Harri Kullas, although not winning a race came out on top at this round with a total of 42 points, closely contended by Revo Seven Kawasaki Dylan Walsh who was hot on his heels in the first race, just coming in behind Kullas and soring through the second race coming in first, despite the race win he ended up second on the podium next to Crendon Fastrack Honda’s Tommy Searle who took podium third, but still runs the red plate heading into the next Championship round. The experts of the MX1 never fail to amaze with Brad Todd, Stuart Edmonds and Glenn Mcormick, all coming within the top 15 in the overall round points.
A word from Marge Clarke, Sidcup DMCC Club Secretary “The Sidcup Club welcomed a large crowd who all bought tickets online which meant the club could monitor the numbers, so they did not exceed the 4000-limit set by Government Guidelines. It was so good to see so many old friends racing on the track, which took a lot of rain on Friday, leaving it in prime condition for today’s event. Whilst we usually host the MX1, MX2 and MXY2 today we welcomed BW & SW85s who showed us that the future of MX looks bright. This was our first event with RHL Activities Ltd the new promotors of the Revo ACU British Motocross Championship Fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels and the expertise they brought with them extremely helped the Sidcup team put on a successful event”

The Kecks Fastest Lap awards were presented to Reece Jones in the Small Wheel 85cc with a time of 2:20.504, Gyan Doensen in the Big Wheel 85cc class with a 2:17.238. Alfie Jones took the Kecks award for the 125/250 class with a 2:10.602. Shaun Simpson in the MX1 class landed the award with a 2:02.170 and Wilson Todd in MX2 with a time of 2:02.862.
