With UK Government restrictions being lifted, motorcycle sport can start to operate again and a unique situation has arisen in the South West of England as two Clubs from different federations have joined together to promote two events on the same piece of land on the first May Bank Holiday weekend.
The AMCA Dartmouth Classic Scramble Club are running their annual event at West Leigh near Totnes on the Sunday (May 2nd) for Pre 65, Pre 74, Twinshock and Evo Classes. Entries are available online from Matt Yates through the https://www.goracemx.com under Dartmouth site, but ahead of this the West Devon MCC will be running a “Get riding Trial” at the same venue on the Saturday afternoon (1st May).
The West Devon Club are renown for promoting the annual Vets Motocross of Nations each year at Farleigh Castle, but with the lockdown having closed events for many months, the club are keen to kick start various aspects of sport, starting with this Trial. There will be ten sections and three laps and none will be too challenging for all classes of adult riders with the exception of experts. Entries can be found on the Ride ACU website. https://www.ride-acu.uk/Secure/Events/Begin-Event-Entry.aspx?GUID=bf96e52c-c8f6-4534-ac7b-b4002f032d85
ACU Chairman Roy Humphrey commented, “I am pleased that these two high profile clubs are working together for the benefit of motorcycle sport in these difficult times. The ACU acknowledge the AMCA with running regional events and this can only help to bring both organisations even closer together”
