Plans for the 2020 British Speedway Final can now be revealed. The event will take place at Ipswich’s Foxhall Stadium on Saturday September 26 – with a crowd (7.30pm).
It’s been selected as one of the government test events as they look to return fans to sporting venues throughout the country.
Tickets must be purchased online in advance with admission £20 but all 15 and under children will be admitted free with a contact tracing adult.
Full details regarding the 16-man field will be available in the next few days and fans are urged to snap up their ticket to avoid disappointment.
Ipswich promoter and British Speedway Director Chris Louis said: “We’re excited to be staging this government test event and we’re determined to make it a success.
“It’s fabulous for us to get some racing at Ipswich this year and hopefully more tracks will be able to follow this throughout October.
“We’ve been in contact with clubs and riders and it’s shaping up to be a very competitive line-up in extraordinary circumstances this year.
“Tickets are already on sale and we can’t wait for the big night. We’ll continue to update supporters with rider announcements regularly.”
British Speedway Chairman Rob Godfrey said: “We see this as a vital part of the restart for British Speedway and we must ensure it is a safe and successful event for the supporters.
“It took a lot of hard work by representatives of the sport to get government recognition and this is something we should all feel proud of.
“I’m looking forward to the event and it’s so good to see clubs up and down the country making every effort to stage racing. We’ve all missed it.”
Tickets are available now from speedwaygb.co.uk/britishfinal with more information about the meeting.
