One of the most coveted awards of the Southern 100 Road Races is the Finishers Plaque awarded to a rider who finishes a race but does not qualify for any other award.
The Finishers Plaques are provided by donations from the public and cost £5.00 per plaque. All subscribers are acknowledged in official race programme and a draw is made at the Southern 100 Prize Presentation, with one lucky subscriber receiving a prize, which in recent years has been an Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Return Ticket for a car plus four passengers. A second prize is drawn for£50.00 in cash or cheque.
Subscribers have in their most generous way been submitting amounts for plaques from the beginning of this year prior to the cancellation of the 2020 Southern 100 Road Races and have continued to send in their donations since.
All the subscriptions received will be brought forward for the 2021Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Southern 100 Road Races which are due to take place on 12th, 13th, 14th & 15th July.
Club Chairman George Peach said: ‘We are extremely grateful for everyone’s continued support, enabling the club to purchase these unique Finishers Plaques, which are much valued by the competitors.
‘All the donations received this year will be carried forward to next year and the annual draw will take place as usual on Championship Day Presentation in Castletown Square on Thursday evening.
’George concluded: ‘Can I also remind our supporters and fans, that the 2020 Southern 100 Year Badges are still available via the official website www.southern100.com.
