It is with regret that the Army MCA informed the ACU Trials & Enduro Committee this week that despite their best efforts, the Natterjack British Enduro Championship Round scheduled for October 2020 will be unable to go ahead in the current climate.
Consequently, and in view of the fact that only one round of the Championship will have been held this year, the ACU Trials & Enduro Committee have taken the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 ACU Michelin British Enduro Championship.
The ACU would like to take this opportunity to thank those organisers who had gone to great lengths to plan scheduled Championship events for 2020. While Witley and District MCC managed to run the first round of the championship before the Covid-19 pandemic hit the UK, a huge amount of effort has been expended by the Dirtbike Action, Dirtbike Evolution, Ramsey and Army motorcycle clubs and we are hugely grateful for their ongoing support.
We would also like to thank Michelin UK for their title sponsorship, along with the riders, teams and clubs who support the ACU Michelin British Enduro Championship. The ACU will now focus on ensuring a full return for the series in 2021, which we hope will be a more positive year for the sport as a whole.
Championship Registrations
For those riders who registered and paid the appropriate fee to score championship points, retain their rider number and create a rider profile for the 2020 Championship, their registration will be automatically rolled over to 2021. This will give them the opportunity to ride in the 2021 British Enduro Championship, scoring points and retaining their rider number throughout the year.
Riders can also choose to receive a refund, which will be processed by ACU Head Office. However, this will mean the rider would have to reapply for a 2021 Championship Registration, at the new fee which is yet to be determined and in view if the current financial climate could be increased for new applications.
