In the light of recent easing of COVID19 restrictions, and in line with Auto Cycle Union guidelines the British Supermoto Championship has arranged and subsequently published its revised Championship schedule.
As with any motorsport activity significant work has been placed in behind the scenes from organisers NoraSport to ensure under COVID19 conditions a salvageable number of rounds could be facilitated. This has provided the opportunity for riders to chase worthy championship honours and with the 2019 championship running an eight-round series, then the loss of just one round is testament to all involved. The 2020 seven round series will visit circuits ranging from Crail in north east Scotland, down to the Pembrokeshire peninsular and Pembrey.
With just under two weeks to go, riders are eager to return to track activity and non-other than reigning British Supermoto Champion Jamie Duncan who is hoping to replicate his victory this year. Close on his heels will for sure be several other contenders including Richard Blakeman, Jordan Bannon, Jay Smith, Richard Sharp and multi British Supermoto Champion Chris Hodgson. If 2019 is mirrored, followers can look ahead to a season filled with top entertainment which over recent years has followed a pattern of the chase for the championship going down to down to the last race, of the last round.
At time of going to press the 18th /19th July event still restricts access to spectators, however if this is to change notifications will be posted on the norasport website:
