This past weekend five riders from the ACU headed to Torun in Poland for the European 125 Youth Track Racing Cup Final. The event was run in very hot and sunny weather meaning the track needed extensive watering both before and during the meeting.
After completing the heat races Luke Harrison reached the A Final where he went on to claim a well-deserved third place finish and the bronze medal.
Luke Harrison produced a strong showing with wins in races 4 and 11 with a 2nd in race 8. This put Luke into the A final as joint top scorer, but he unfortunately lost the ballot for the best gate pick. Luke gated third in the Final and raced hard and cleverly and only just failed to snatch 2
nd and he placed 3rd.
The other 4 riders Max Perry, Freddie Fox-Barron, Ben Trigger and Max James were all well prepared, well behaved and applied themselves diligently to the task in hand and a model for some of the adult teams. The riders appreciated the support from the ACU and were a privilege to work with. All five young riders showed great promise and raced with track craft beyond their years.
