More Podiums for GB at European Enduro Championship
This past weekend saw a 6 strong British Contingent head to Slovakia for the 2nd round of the European Enduro Championship.

At the forefront of the Brits was Manxman Jed Etchells aboard an MRS Sherco 300. Jed had a great two days and finished 2nd in the Junior E2/3 category, and even managed to get on the podium in the overall standings with a 3rd! A great ride and one to be proud of. Hopefully this will be the start of things to come for Jed in the European Championship.

Another rider in the Junior Class was Alfie Coles in Junior E1. Alfie had a good first day bringing home a top 10 result in 9th but slipped back slightly on Day 2 to 11th, however that was still a great ride and a solid platform to build on heading into the next event.

In the ‘Senior’ categories there was just one rider, and that was Gas Gas mounted Luke Parker. Luke rode in Senior 250cc 2t and over where he carded two respectable top 5 results. (P4 Day 1, P5 Day 2)

There were some great results from our lady riders this weekend, especially with a day 1 victory from Nieve Holmes aboard her Sherco! It was an extremely tough event but Nieve kept her cool and took a great Day one victory, however a mistake in reading her times on Day 2 meant she couldn’t repeat that feat and slipped her to 2nd place overall on the weekend. Nevertheless a fantastic achievement and one she dedicated to the late Nigel Fallows. Rosie Rowett was the other rider in the Ladies class and she had a disastrous first day losing her front brake. She did well to finish and salvaged a P7. On day 2 she came out swinging and finished in 2nd to keep her Championship fire burning so well done to both of the girls for pushing on despite the odds.

Last but by no means least is the Senior ‘Overs’ category in which James Jackman was competing, and he did fantastically all weekend to score a podium finish with 3rd in class. On day 1 he finished 4th which was already an astounding result but to go one better on Sunday and pull out a P3 and get another Union Jack flown above the podium was commendable so congratulations to you James, and to all of the other riders including the U23 ACU Junior Squad who benefitted from ACU funding for this event!
