With just under a week to go to close of entries for this year's Manx Grand Prix, numbers are looking healthy and the club office is being kept busy sorting them out. So far, the ever- popular Junior race, which comprises the middle-weight 600cc machines, has 86 entries while the Senior race, which is the event finale, has 83. There are 54 machines entered in the Lightweight class and a further 26 in the Ultra-lightweight race which runs concurrently. The rising popularity of the Moto3 bikes is starting to filter through to the event, with three of them entered this year, in the Ultra-lightweight category, along with two 125 machines. As with last year, spectators and competitors can enjoy two Lightweight/Ultra-lightweight races, which will again run on the Wednesday and Friday of race week. A total of 27 entries have been received so far from Newcomers, with the majority of those in the A race category. Entries close on Thursday April 18 and organisers hope to have everything finalised by the end of April, after which all entrants will be contacted. This year's Manx Grand Prix opens with practices on Saturday August 17 and ends with the Senior race on Friday August 30.
