For 2019 RHL Activities is pleased to announce the introduction of the ACU British Rookie Championship within the Judd KTM ACU British Youth Championship in the Auto to Open classes.
The all-new Rookie Championships has come out of talks with the 2018 parents and riders, and will hold official ACU titles. RHL knows the British Youth Championship has the fastest youth riders in the country, but recognises they need to encourage riders and families to enter into the Judd KTM British Youth Championship, the highest level of youth racing in the UK, whilst nurturing those riders moving up in classes. The introduction of the ACU British Rookie Championship opens the door to these riders who perhaps don’t feel ready to compete with the highly skilled youngsters in the UK, but help them as they develop their speed at national level in each championship class.
Riders eligible to compete for one of the ACU British Rookie titles are either new to the Championship or moving up a class. Riders competing in the ACU British Rookie Championship will also score points in the Judd KTM ACU British Youth Championship. At the final round of the season the rookie rider in each class with the most points will be crowned the ACU British Rookie Champion in their respective class.
For riders who have moved up a class, for example from 65cc to Small Wheel 85cc, the rider will be classed as a rookie rider for one year, after which they will be only eligible to compete for the main Judd KTM ACU British Youth Championship titles.
