This weekend Team GB will be competing the Monster Energy Motocross of Nations at Red Bud in America. Team Manager Mark Chamberlain has selected a strong team consisting of Tommy Searle (MXGP), Ben Watson (MX2) and Max Anstie (MX Open) to hopefully build upon last years podium performance at Matterley Basin.
Coming into the event the all three riders are feeling confident and looking forward to representing their country at the event and producing strong results individually and as a team.
Tommy Searle will be consisting the MXGP class on the Bike It DRT Kawasaki and arrives at the event fully fit. This year will be Tommy’s 10
th time of representing Team GB at the MXON and in previous years has been the teams strongest rider.
In the MX2 class, Ben Watson will be making his debut for Team GB at the MXON on the Kemea Yamaha Official MX2 after finishing fourth in the World MX2 Championship. Watson has been in great form this season taking his first career overall podium along with regular top 5 finishes.
Last year’s star performer Max Anstie will be lining up in the MX Open class on his Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing machine and hoping to produce similar results to his double race win at Matterley Basin last year. Anstie has finished the end of the season in strong form taking an overall podium at the penultimate round at Assen just three weeks ago.
Team Manager Mark Chamberlain commented when making the team selection that
“This is year has been really tough to pick the team. Lots of different hurdles had to be overcome to get to this decision. I’m pleased with the riders selected and feel it’s a really strong team. It’s great to have Ben Watson on the Team as being his first year he is buzzing. That with Max and Tommy with the experience they bring together a really good team”.
