The ACU Track Racing Department have received the unfortunate news over the weekend from the Guernsey Motor Cycle & Car Club, that the 2018 ACU British Sand Racing Championship will not be taking place.
The Organisers have encountered logistical problems due to the title sponsor (Condor) having to take one of their three ferries out of service the day before the SandAce was to be held (June 16th).
As a result, no more than seven vehicles would be able to get on the ferry on Sunday 17th with the remainder traveling on an overnight crossing on Monday that would get to Portsmouth on the morning of Tuesday 19th.
This would mean most people being away for 5 or 6 days which is impractical for most and would result in a decimated line up.
Due to this reason the ACU British Sand Race Championship has been cancelled but the Guernsey Motor Cycle & Car Club will still be running an event on the Vazon Bay beach on the 16th June.
The organisers are determined that the event will be back and plan to make 2019 the biggest and best SandAce yet.
