Press Officer for Southern 100 Racing, Phil Edge said:
‘The 2018 Media Launch proved to be very popular with the Morton Hall in Castletown full of guests, members of the media and Southern 100 fans who heard first-hand about plans for the three road race meetings we organise each year on the newly renamed Colas Billown Course. ‘This is the 14th year that we have held a Media Launch, the first was in our ‘Golden Jubilee’ year, 2005. The evening gives us a chance to publicise and thank our various sponsors for their continued support which is vital to the continuation of the races and to inform the fans of our race programmes and our all-important visitors of what they can expect to enhance their experience whilst attending the friendly races.’ Phil continued: ‘The live streaming by TSP provided increased publicity for the three race meetings with viewers being able to watch the proceedings and we are grateful to Jo Pack for coming along and providing the excellent coverage.’ Jo Pack of The Sports Package said: ‘We were delighted to be asked to live stream the Southern 100 media launch. It was great to see lots of support online from fans all over the world who were not able to get to the event, especially families of the riders. ‘TSP wish the Southern 100 all the very best for a successful 2018. ‘ Southern 100 Racing’s Broadcast Partner since 2014, Manx Radio also broadcast the evening live on their AM wavelength and via their website. George Peach, Southern 100 Race Secretary said: ‘The club is most grateful to Manx Radio for providing live broadcast facilities of the Media Launch and to Tim Glover for hosting the evening on our behalf and to Jo Pack of The Sports Package for the live streaming and now look forward to welcoming competitors along with fans and enthusiasts, old and new to our three road races this year.’ Race Dates 2018 Blackford’s Pre-TT Classic Road Races Friday, Saturday and Sunday 25th, 26th & 27th May Radcliffe Butchers Post TT Road Races Saturday 9th June Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Southern 100 International Road Races Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th July
