The eagerly awaited return of the ACU British Timecard Enduro Championship heads to Warren Heath, Hampshire on Sunday 11th February. Witley & District Motorcycle Club are set to host the 1st round of this year’s series which will be 1st ever BEC in the clubs long established history.
Clerk of the course Tristan Robinson, along with his assistants Neil Bowker & Rob Carey have set out an enjoyable but challenging 18 lap, using some of the finest enduro going in the South-East with a route that is rideable in all weather conditions.
From the Event Start, the course winds round the fast and flowing Heath Warren on what will be the tight check. Riders will be tested to their limit in this area and it’s all too easy to lose a minute in the famous Baggott Bog!
After Check 1, the course moves to the Warren Heath part of the forest and skirts round the perimeter of the venue, taking in the quarry road on the way to the Tough Plant Hire ‘Smith’ Test. The highly competitive Smith Family have designed a technical enduro test, within sight of the start, with bannering and assistance from sponsor Tough Plant Hire
On leaving the Smith test, the course becomes tight and technical, winding its way through the darkened wood sections until riders appear at the EnduroTyresAlldred Test. Richard (Big Bird) Alldred and Daniel Alldred have been setting special tests in this area for years at the Witley Classic Enduro and with an increased area, will bring you a flowing cross test with a road jump! With the test located adjacent to the paddock and EnduroTyres providing the banners, this really will be a hub for spectators before the riders complete their lap.
2017 World Junior Enduro Champion & current British Enduro Champion Brad Freeman starts as favourite but Danny McCanney will be hoping to go one better this time after finishing last season as runner-up.
Hot on their heels will be youngsters Jack Edmondson, Dan Mundell & Joe Wootton all hoping to spring in a few surprises along the way. Cornish star Josh Gotts & ex-motocrosser Alex Snow improving all the time will no doubt have their sights of a podium finish.
Other top BEC riders entered include ex-British enduro Champions David Knight, Tom Sagar & Daryl Bolter, plus extreme enduro hotshot Billy Bolt, Fraser Flockhart, Tom Ellwood, James Dent, Charlie Evans & another motocross star changing over to Enduro’s Jed Etchells to name but a few. Don’t be surprised to see newly promoted Expert riders Bradley King, Jay Thomas, Alex Walton & Harry Edmondson up there scoring some good points too.
All the normal BEC classes will be catered for too including, Expert, Clubman, Ladies, Over 40’s & Over 50’s.
The event will start and finish at Warren Heath, Hampshire, RG27 0QB. It will be signposted from the A30 at the top of Star Hill. The start time will be 0900. All riders will start four per minute.
Please note that there is strictly no overnight camping at the venue.

Due to recent popularity of the first round of this years BEC with the entries filling up within a day and many people missing out, the ACU Trials and Enduro Committee has taken the decision to allow competitors to drop one day of this year’s championship. Therefore, riders that may have missed the entry deadline for the Witley event have the opportunity to contest the championship this year.
Note- This is drop one day, NOT drop one event.
