The final round of the 2017 A.C.U./F.S.R.A. British F2 Sidecar Championship will be the third time this season that the teams get to enjoy Cadwell Park once again. This past weekend saw the pairing of Team Founds Racing Peter Founds and Jevan Walmsley secure the British Championship for 2017 in consecutive seasons after taking second place in race one and winning the second race. They are now eighty points clear of Team Ramsden Racing Steve and Matty Ramsden.
In the F2 Cup it is still all to play for with Mike Jackson/Callum Crowe from the Isle of Man still leading on 209 points, with Team Powerhouse Brian Ilaria/Jody James on 173 points, in third place are Ralph Remnant/Samantha Tilley on 161 points. After Mallory Park, the top two had issues and none more so than Team Powerhouse who had a catastrophic blow up in race two and it will be all hands to the pump this week to get ready for the final round.
Making a wild card appearance will be multiple British and multiple World Champion Tim Reeves who will be joined by Mark Wilkes, with the latter securing third place last weekend in Croatia in the World Championship with John Holden.
There will be two qualifying sessions on Saturday followed by a twelve-lap race and on Sunday will be survival of the fittest and reliability with an eighteen lap race to end the seasons proceedings.
The last time the teams were at Cadwell in round five of seven Peter Founds/Jevan Walmsley recorded their fastest time and got within 0.4s of the FSRA outright lap record. They recorded a time of 1:37.731. The lap record currently stands at 1:37.32 which was set back in May of 2010 by Neary/Knapton.
