This weekend the Halstead club will be hosting the fifth round of the Maxxis British Sidecarcross championships at their Little Loveney Hall circuit at Wakes Colne.
Over the past few weeks the club have worked hard on the track to ensure that it will be in prime condition for the days racing. Nearly thirty of the country’s top crews have entered for the event and will do battle in the three twenty minute championship races.
Leading the series after the last round at Dean Moor are Stuart Brown / Joe Millard who are twenty three points ahead of Brett Wilkinson / Dan Chamberlain. Since the last round Wilkinson has changed from Mega engines to Zabel and in recent GPs their performance has improved so they will be hoping to challenge Brown for first place.
Currently in third place are the top Irish team of Gary Moulds / Steve Kirwin, fifty one points behind Wilkinson. Also from Ireland are Neil Campbell and his English passenger Craig Parmenter who will be hoping to complete the meeting without injury.
The sidecar Experts championship, which is contested within the same races, is being led by Hodges / Ide who are fourteen points ahead of second placed Moulds / Kirwin.
In addition to the sidecar championship races there are solo riders in the very popular NGR championship plus solo support.
Practice starts at 10 o’clock with the first race due to start immediately following practice. Admission for adults is £10 with kids under 12 free. The track is at Little Loveney Hall, Wakes Colne and the nearest postcode is CO6 2BH
