The twelfth round of the World Sidecar Cross Championships was held last weekend at Roggenburg in Switzerland and after the two moto's Bax / Musset took the overall win and are now thirty points ahead of second placed Giraud / Mucenieks.
Four
British crews were in attendance and in Saturday’s qualifying races
Wilkinson / Chamberlain went through in group A and Kinge / Humphrey
qualified from group B. Foden / Grahame missed out both in their race
and also in the last chance. Brown / Millard didn’t complete one lap in
their race having to stop because a stone had punctured their radiator.
Later in the day they qualified in the last chance but would have to
start Sunday’s races from the second row.
The first race on Sunday saw Giraud lead for the whole race with Bax second after the first lap. Wilkinson
came home in sixth, Brown was eighth and Kinge eighteenth. The race was
stopped after just over twenty minutes because of a serious injury to a
French rider.
In
the second leg Willemsen led until four laps from the end when he was
passed by Bax. Giraud was up to second by lap three but had to pull out
on lap thirteen with a leaking oil hose. Wilkinson was sixth, Brown
seventh and Kinge eighteenth.
With
just two rounds to go Bax now leads Giraud by thirty points with
Willemsen a further twenty three points behind in third. Brown has now
dropped to fifth with Wilkinson ninth and Kinge twenty seventh.
