The fifth round of the 2017 Sidecarcross World Championships was held at Kristers Sergis’s Kegums track near Riga in Latvia. Only 34 teams were in attendance with Brown / Millard and Wilkinson / Chamberlain the only two Brits.
The outcome for the two Brits was very different with Wilkinson crashing heavily in Saturday’s practice resulting in a broken collar bone for Brett meaning their weekend was over. Brown on the other hand qualified third from the group B race and went on to finish ninth and sixth in the two legs on Sunday.
Ex world champion Daniel Willemsen and his passenger Robbie Bax took the overall win from Bax / Musset with Brown finishing sixth overall.
In the championship table Bax leads by thirteen points from Giraud with Brown still in fourth place but Wilkinson has dropped from fifth to ninth. The next round is at Iffendic, France on 2
nd July.
