On the Bank Holiday weekend, 27th & 28
th May the Iveston & Satley MCC will be hosting round two of the 2017 Maxxis ACU British Sidecarcross Championships at a new track to the sidecar fraternity at Blyth, Northumberland. The track was inspected on 20
th April by the clerk of the course and some changes have been agreed to improve the layout.
On Saturday there will be races for the NETT Quad Championship and the NETT Sidecar championship. Sunday is NETT Quads plus Maxxis Sidecars.
Currently leading the sidecar championship after round one in Northern Ireland are Gary Moulds / Steve Kirwin on 70 points with defending champions Stuart Brown / Joe Millard and Neil Campbell / Gary Parmenter joint second on 60 points. Unfortunately Campbell was injured at Diss yesterday and at the time it wasn’t clear how serious the injury was. With most of the top crews entered the racing should be intense with Brown determined to get back to the top spot whilst the others will be doing their best to challenge for the top places.
Practice starts at 10.15 on Saturday with the first race due off at 11.15. On Sunday practice is 09.15 with the first race at 10.00. The club have laid out a slick timetable with a view to completing racing before 16.00 on Sunday.
Admission for the public is £5 each or £10 per car with 2 or more people. The track is at Fergusons Business Park, Blyth, Northumberland. NE22 7DD
