At the recent ACU Ltd AGM and meeting of the National Council, Chairman John Collins also presented Don Ryder and Dave Willoughby with their appointments of Vice-Presidents of the ACU.
Both Don and Dave have given a lifetime to motorcycle sport. Don, a former Road Racer has been involved with Darleymoor MCC since its inception in 1965. A former TT competitor, until recently Don was the ACU’s Chief Steward at the iconic event. Don spent many years on the Road Race Committee and was also Vice Chairman of the Company.
Dave has spent his life in the world of Trials & Enduro and has represented the ACU at all levels as an Official. He spent many years on the ACU’s Trials & Enduro Committee, he was a former Director at the FIM and is currently the Chairman of ACU – East Yorks. He also negotiated the Forestry Agreement on the ACU’s behalf and continues to be the ACU’s lead role in this matter and as we all know Forestry land is so key to Off Road sport given the issues we face with Land Access on a national basis.
ACU Chairman, John Collins commented, “Both Don and Dave have contributed so much to the ACU and motorcycle sport for many many years. It is only right and proper that we recognise what they have achieved and their dedication to our sport in this way”.
