Southern 100 Marshals Association was saddened to learn of the passing of long-time marshal at the three races held on the Billown Course Jack Ward on Wednesday 22nd February 2017 at the age of 91.
Jack Ward was one of the marshals at the very first Southern 100 Road Races in 1955 and received a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ during the club’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in 2015.
Jack was also the chief judge at the annual Concours d' Elegance of Racing Machines held in Castletown Square on Prize Presentation Day after the
Blackford’s Pre-TT Classic Road Races.
The Southern 100 Marshals Association and Southern 100 Racing express their sincere condolences to Jack’s family and friends at this sad time. Jack Ward’s association and involvement with the races held on the Billown Course over 60 years benefited everyone who came in touch with him - thank you Jack. R.I.P.
