The second round of the Cornwall OSET Cup was subject to one of those weird weather days – not that it put off any of the 30 riders.
With blazing sunshine one minute and thundery downpours the next, the eight sections changed dramatically from lap to lap depending on what was happening with the weather.
An easy, medium and hard course were set our separately from each other and ridden three times. Howard Stevens who manages the Cornwall OSET Cup, said: “Each course is completely separate from each other allowing safe and appropriate courses for each level and age of rider. The series has gone from strength to strength. When we started we had on average around 10 riders per event but now we’ve trebled that to attract 30 youngsters. We keep it fun, not too serious and with the aim of helping the kids develop their ability. It’s great to see the sense of achievement as they step up to the next level.”
All the riders collected a certificate at the end of the event and a well-earned bag of sweets.

9 yrs - Jowan Powell 50.
6yrs - 1st Ted Youlden-Moyle 27, 2nd Jack Pengilly 44, 3rd Tom Powell 56, 4th Jamie Goss 57, 5th Lewis Dingle 84.
Easy Course:
5 yrs - 1st Alfie Brown 28, 2nd Isaac Brazier 49, 3rd Tobias Smith 55, 4th Matthew Allen 65.
4 yrs - 1st Marley Davison 23, 2nd Leon Thomas 60, 3rd Theo Bottle 64.
